Crystal UR - Make way for Wawa!

Adjacent to my work, there is a construction project to build a much anticipated Wawa. What interesting to note about this project is that prior to construction there was nothing there. When I say "nothing," I don't mean a vacant wooded lot. I mean there was nothing but a hole connected to a small sink hole lake. Meaning construction could not commence until the hole was partially filled. I plan to sample the water of this small lake and another pond nearby as a control so see what, if any, havoc construction has caused.

  1. Crystal--what sort of 'havoc' do you think might have resulted from the construction process? Also--how long has it been since this construction and the filling of the hole? Do you think that construction impacts still be obvious?

  2. Crystal when they broke ground on this .."nothing"..site I wondered how they could even get a permit to fill in this what looks like a lake, sinkhole or recharge area. Which brings me to another point I wonder what local politician allowed this to even happen because I have seen this site flooded while the Texas Roadhouse was under construction I even think the water may have stopped construction on that project. Building this WAWA there is going to make it even more possible for the other local businesses to flood now that the water has less area to go into.
