Brent, CUR-- Sounds of the Indian River Lagoon

These are some of the sound files and how they look on my computer. Ishmael will not allow me to change the names of the files and I haven't quit figured out how to upload the sound files to the blog spot yet, but once I do I will post them as well. So far I know that dolphins in the area can hear a range from 150 Hz to 150 KHz and a manatee can hear from 250 Hz to 90.5 KHz. So far a boat on idle lies on the same range as dolphins in the area, and as a boat runs on plain it reaches the ideal range for the auditory range of manatees, which is 8-32 KHz. The most common accidents with manatees and dolphins are accidental boat collisions.

  1. Something I would ask during a final presentation, should it come up, is "According to what organization/whom are the most common accidents with dolphins/manatees due to accidental boat collisions?"
