Project by Jeffrey

In case your checking in for the first time; Deanna and I are constructing a current measuring device (CMD). The unmanned apparatus is designed to collect tidal current data. We picked up the accelerometer; we picked up pvc. I picked up a six pack. De and I went over our ideas, made some profound decisions based on our beliefs.

I took the revised drawing with dimensions and parts list to the hardware store. This time I remembered to take money and my caliper.

After spending an hour gathering parts and contemplating any oversights, I was on my way home. I spent some time making a pipe jig for the drill press and a stop fence for the miter saw. De assisted while I cut.

We dry fitted all the parts together.

Next step: persuade Wyndham Ocean Walk to allow us access to the lazy river. We need to test and calibrate our apparatus.

  1. Hi Jeff. I'm excited to see that you are well on your way to creating your 24/7 current velocity 'recorder'. Only one suggestion for your post--please remind folks (at the start of your blog) what the heck you are doing. Our Blog is now linked to the IMES webpage and your posts will likely be visited by 'outsiders' who know nothing of your project. Otherwise--can't wait to see what you and De do (De do, De do ;-)
