"Digesting" Data

In my last post, I talked a bit about "contextualizing" your result/data (what question are you trying to answer, and is there a hypothesis?). After you've talked about your findings/data, you'll want to let your readers know "so what?" If you've learned that plants only grow in certain sediments, for instance, what impact does this have? Who should care, and why should they care? Help your reader "digest" the data, make sense of it, and know why it's important!

In real, formal, scientific writing, this is referred to as the "Discussion" section, and it usually comes after the "Results" section. You don't have to label sections on the blog or anything like that, but a sentence or two to tell us what makes your findings meaningful would be a really nice addition!
