Introduction- Seaira Goetz

My name is Seaira, I am 21 and live in Deland. I have lived in Florida my entire life, and the wildlife here is very dear to my heart. I enjoy traveling and I would enjoy nothing more than living in a variety of places and learning as much as I can about the world around me. I would like to continue my education in environmental science and make as much of an impact as I am able to. I think that the most important thing to me is protection, conservation, and respect for the planet we all inhabit. Oceanography is also a passionate study of mine, I would make it my life's work to protect our oceans. I love gardening and farming. I work outside everyday with horses, and tend to my own garden at home. I also enjoy volunteering; I spent last summer participating in the WWOOF program (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). Working directly under farmers who cared about the food they ate, and the world around them. It was refreshing and gave me hope for my own future. I would say that in the next five years I would like to volunteer more, finish my B.S. in environmental sciences, and possibly work as an intern for NOAA. I am very excited to work with everyone this semester, and I am ready to get some field work under my belt!

  1. My NASA husband said to tell you that...all of your volunteer experiences should greatly enhance your chances of getting an intern position with NOAA! Nice job, Seaira!!
